Due to the sequencing of events in the end-of-turn step, Keeper of the Damned's ability is able to Spawn creatures that are dying at the end of the turn. When a player's turn is complete, they first discard their hand and draw five new cards, then effects that are triggered at the end of the turn and/or the end of a rank are put into a batch and resolved, and lastly, effects that last only for "this turn" wear off. Most creatures that die at the end of a turn (Ebonskull Knight, for example) will die in the end-of-turn trigger batch, which happens before Keeper's ability wears off. This means that if it is the turn before the rank up and there is a friendly Ebonskull Knight in play, you can target it with Keeper of the Damned and get another Knight when it dies.
